Easy-to-Miss Scene with Guy & Tear

Guy and Tear's relationship wasn't something I gave much thought to on my first playthrough of Abyss. In fact, I was more into LukeTear and GuyLuke. But after beating the game and listening to a few Drama CDs and realizing some of their Titles match (i.e: Tear's maid outfit and Guy's bartender outfit), I thought, "Huh..."

I don't plan on covering much meta for these two since they're an OTP and I'd rather focus more on creative energy than analyzing them. However, I'm pleased to say that I did stumble upon this scene on my NG+ and it was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Honestly, the reason why I ship (OTP, even) GuyTear is cause of this easily missable, optional scene when you first return to Baticul in Abyss.

In fact, it’s so missable that I had to look up JP vids for screencaps cause no English walkthrough has recorded this scene.

To give a rundown, these girls start harassing Guy and think his phobia is “cute.” That’s why they keep edging closer to him until his back is LITERALLY to the wall.

Guy turns to Jade and Luke for help and gets absolutely no support. Which isn’t anything new.

In steps Tear.

She stands up for Guy and tells the girls to leave him alone. Despite that one scene in St. Binah where she purposefully triggers Guy’s phobia when he ticks her off, Tear seems to be the only one who takes Guy’s phobia seriously BEFORE “the reveal.”

I know Guy/Tear is not only slept on but heavily pushed for platonic in the fandom, but scenes like this one make me wish they had more interactions in canon instead of Abyss just focusing on the “main duos” (ie: LukeTear, Luketalia, Aschtalia, GuyTalia, etc). I really think Guy and Tear look cute together and would make a good couple.
